Hampstead Heath is a large, ancient park in North London.  Covering 320 hectares (790 acres) Hampstead Heath and just 6 miles from Trafalgar Square it is the wildest of London’s parks and a fantastic place to escape the city and return to nature.

Trafalgar Square is London’s most famous square and is the fourth most popular tourist attraction on Earth with more than fifteen million visitors a year.

The square commemorates the Battle of Trafalgar (1805), a British naval victory over the French and a key battle of the Napoleonic Wars.

At the center of Trafalgar Square is Nelson’s Column a 46 m (151 ft) granite column that has on its top a statue of Admiral Horatio Nelson, who was killed in the Battle of Trafalgar.

It is a spectacular event that takes place outside the gates of Buckingham Palace every day at 11.30 during the summer and every other day during the winter.

The process involves a new guard exchanging duty with the old guard and is a ceremony that is steeped in pomp and British heritage.
